Production Development Manager


Job summary

Play an important role in Business development of South Morocco supporting our local growers with the goal to fulfill the strategic plan while working to Driscoll’s mission, vision, and values.

Production manager will execute the production plan, manages the grower base in the region and the business environment, to deliver on key KPI’s (yields/ha, cost/kg, total yields, quality, forecast and compliance parameters).

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Nurture and support positive Grower relationships and resolve problems in a timely and fair manner.
  • Ensure all production activities are based upon the agreed company Strategic plan.
  • Be responsible for the development of the budget and the achievement of the financial targets within his grower base.
  • Contribute to the implementation and execution of South Morocco strategy and functional plan.
  • Ensure grower alignment with all Driscoll’s departments, to increase productivity and profit.
  • Manage the grower base, securing proper, timely, reliable and effective communication processes. Anticipate any constrains or change in the production plans (resources, weather, plant material, forecast, cultural factors, etc.)
  • Daily work with Agronomy, QA field, grower service and SEI setting organizational priorities and proper allocation of resources, as well as deliverables for all teams (hectares, yield/ha, total production, grower P&L, quality ratings and thresholds, treatments, preventive measures, etc.).
  • Responsible, in coordination with grower services for plant planning and deliveries in the region and insure the liaison with Nursery department on requirements of plant material as plant handling or growing date.
  • Give technical input to local growers, informing results, crop techniques, and new varieties improvements trough visiting farms and setting Driscoll’s grower meetings,
  • Following and supporting Forecast processes and directives, have daily interaction with the Forecast Team in order to validate projected volumes, production curves and propose and implement corrective measures as needed
  • Ensure proper and efficient introduction and incorporation of new genetics and new production systems in South of Morocco, as to optimize the genetic potential of our varieties. Will coordinate and work closely with PBM’s, PL, AR and R&D and actively participate in LVS, DVS and LCT, and other regional and global forums.
  • Closely monitor the competitive landscape, detecting potential growers that could be incorporated to our system, activities and practices that could have an impact on the business.
  • Responsible to feed DEMEA short term communication flow, making sure all information is properly received, with corrective measures planned and executed, as needed.
  • Communicate, work with, and execute the Driscoll’s Mission, Vision &Values.
  • Any other tasks requested by management which is expected to be within the job holders qualities and qualifications.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

 

Requirements : Education, Knowledge and Experience

  • Academic Degree:
  • Engineer Degree in Agronomy, agribusiness or related field, from IAV or ENAM

  • Professional experience:
  • Minimum 5 (substantial experience) years’ work experience in a related field.
  • Preferable working in an international dynamic environment.
  • Areas of experience:
  • Agribusiness management.
  • Berries production
  • Valid driver license
  • Foreign Language:
  • Excellent English, Arabic and French skills in both verbal and written.
  • Spanish is a plus.
